Life in Vertical
The Instagram Creators program invited Parallel Studio to create a film showcasing the potential of vertical video on the theme of “stories from above and below”.
Parallel approached the brief with their usual wit and humour. They shared a few insights to their working process:
“We asked ourselves: What if life turned suddenly vertical? We answered this question literally and stretched the horizontal format into a vertical format, and by doing so, stretch what’s within the frame…for better or worse.”
Originally commissioned as a 15 second film for Facebook and instagram, Parallel extended to 40 seconds to include more of the brilliant ideas that came to them while playing with this format.
