BERSHKA
Bershka x Jun Ioneda / Illustration / Bershka Menswear Summer Collection / 2026
Jon Ioneda brings endless holiday energy to Bershka's Curated By collection. Inspired by his Brazilian roots, five custom graphics mix psychedelic animals, dreamy landscape and playful Portuguese phrases across clothing and accessories.
The Brief
Bershka's team invited Jun to dream up a visual universe for their summer capsule. Their vision: a collection that radiates endless vacation vibes—sunshine, freedom, rhythm, and bold energy—woven through five graphics on T-shirts, long-sleeve and short-sleeve shirts, and a tote bag. Tropical motifs, a breezy optimism, and dreamy landscapes all hint at Rio’s magic.
The Objective
To spotlight fresh talent in Bershka’s latest Curated by series, inviting artists to contribute their creative mark on the brand. This initiative forges new connections between art, fashion, and contemporary culture, reaffirms Bershka’s support for emerging voices, and offers Gen Z trendsetters a collection that pulses with Brazilian spirit.
Why Jun Ioneda
Jun is a São Paulo-based graphic artist and creative director with more than a decade of experience, so the nod to Rio comes from the inside. It feels lived-in rather than like a holiday postcard. His work mixes queer culture, sci-fi, fantasy and Japanese pop culture, filtered through his own experience as an Asian-Brazilian artist. The tone is playful, often funny and sometimes melancholic.
That was exactly what Bershka was after: psychedelic characters, saturated colour and framed scenes with bold type. Jun has worked with youth-focused brands like Fanta, Tinder and MTV, and runs Barca, an illustration studio whose clients include Spotify, Uber and Heineken. He also knows fashion. His campaign and collection illustrations for the upcycling label Projeto Mottainai were shortlisted at the 2023 World Illustration Awards.
The result is a voice that speaks naturally to a social-first Gen Z audience, with characters and phrases made to be worn, shared and recognised.
The Outcome
Five original graphics that came together as a single, vibrant universe: swirling psychedelic animals, glowing dreamscapes, and hand-drawn Portuguese phrases, all flowing across T-shirts, long-sleeve and short-sleeve shirts, and a tote bag. The collection debuted in stores and online, bringing a true Brazilian perspective to Bershka’s global Gen Z community.
