RENAULT TWINGO
THE FROG IS BACK
For Milan Design Week 2026, artist and designer Marcantonio transformed Renault’s store in Brera into an immersive, unexpected environment: a pond in the middle of the city.
At the core of the installation, two monumental frog sculptures—each the size of the new Renault Twingo—playfully echo the car’s iconic front design: rounded headlights, soft lines, and a smiling grille. Designed by Marcantonio, the frogs bring to life the long-imagined resemblance between the Twingo and a frog, turning it into a bold spatial narrative.
Surrounding them, a landscape of oversized water lilies, reflective surfaces, and ambient nature sounds creates a surreal atmosphere, inviting visitors to step into a space suspended between nature and design.
The experience extends outdoors with a lounge area on Corso Garibaldi, immersive window displays, and a large-scale mural that transforms the neighborhood into part of the installation.
At the center, the new Renault Twingo E-Tech electric embodies the project’s spirit: compact, intelligent, and expressive. A contemporary reinterpretation of an iconic model, awarded the Car Design Award 2026 for its ability to turn small scale into a statement of style.
The Frog Is Back turns a retail space into a story—where art, mobility, and imagination meet, and where even a car can make you smile.
“Renault Twingo has always felt friendly—its front reminds me of a smiling frog. From there, the idea: the frog becomes its guiding animal, sharing agility and versatility. I wanted to emphasize this bond by translating the car’s iconic front design into the frog, enhancing its irony and positivity.”
