As part of the renewal of Young Plaza, Lotte sought an illustrator to create artwork for the exterior of its large shopping mall in Myeongdong, Seoul. Believing Simon Landrein to be the perfect fit, they initiated the collaboration through Pocko.
In less than a month, Lotte’s design team, Simon, and Pocko worked seamlessly together—refining ideas from rough sketches to final delivery with efficiency and creativity. Simon’s seasoned professionalism was key to the project’s success.
Simon’s illustration beautifully captures the spirit of Young Plaza’s rebirth, following its temporary closure in March 2025. With his signature humor, he reimagined the construction work in a playful way, ensuring that, even during the Plaza’s quiet period, its energy lives on and visitors are left anticipating their next visit.
