Jess Mountfield
Animation
Jess is an animator and illustrator who loves designing everything from films to tapestries, and collecting an ever expanding supply of interesting paper and materials to use in her work.
She grew up in Turkey, Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Germany, and has now made London her home. With degrees in animation and anthropology, she loves exploring character, colour, and place in her work. She has worked across a range of mediums and formats, including film, publishing and installation - from a Finnish museum to a historic London lighthouse.
Her films have screened in over 50 festivals internationally, and she has won awards for her animation work including Best Short Form from the Royal Television Society, and Best Commissioned Film from the London International Animation Festival. Additionally, she has worked with BBC, FX, MTV, Adult Swim, ICA, Flying Eye and Ted ED.
