CELEBRATING LEGACY
Illustrators Omar Aqil and Emmanuel Romeuf show how legacy can be not only remembered but reinterpreted and celebrated. Transforming history into something alive. Both artists explore how the a story moves through time, reshaped by the creative hands that revisit it.
Through their distinct visual languages, they translate the essence of the past into the aesthetics of the present. Aqil channels surrealism through cutting-edge 3D illustration, using digital tools to revisit moments that defined an era. Romeuf, by contrast, distills history into refined, graphic compositions that echo the timeless clarity of classic design.
Together, their works reveal how art can preserve the spirit of iconic moments while reframing them for contemporary audiences. Legacy, after all, isn’t only what is left behind, it’s what continues to inspire new stories.
Emmanuel Romeuf:
Andy Warhol once spotted a legendary 1930s luxury car in a Zurich antique shop, bought it on the spot, and made it part of his New York life. French illustrator Emmanuel Romeuf brings this story back to life with a striking new piece a tribute to Warhol’s singular eye and to a car that has never stayed in the background.
Omar Aqil:
December 1955, Paris. 2,000 people gathered outside the Sorbonne, waiting for Salvador Dalí’s lecture. He swept in aboard a classic luxury car, inexplicably filled with 500kg of cauliflower, tumbling onto the pavement as he opened the door.
This new 3D illustration is a tribute to that brilliantly surreal moment, and to the car that carried it into history. Created by Omar Aqil, a visionary 3D artist represented by POCKO, the piece reimagines surrealism with a contemporary digital lens.
At POCKO, we believe illustration can transform heritage and icons into fresh visual stories. How might you celebrate your brand’s story through art?
