Timothy Durand has been developing a new personal series inspired by famous, influential painters. A key figure in this sequence is Henri Matisse, pictured in his studio.
Timothy says, “At the beginning I wondered how the studio interiors of a great painter should be – decoration, wallpaper, etc. I told myself that Matisse should not need decoration knowing that his paintings should occupy the space. I also like the idea of super-known works in a different environment from museums and this taking the form of a portrait with their creator.”
We can’t wait to see the full collection come together.
