The Roman Ride

In collaboration with our artist Michela Picchi and Scholz & Friends, Pocko presents 13 unique collectible Vespa designs, created exclusively for Generali and DVAG.

For Michela, a Roman artist born and raised in the city and now living and working worldwide, this project carried a deeply personal weight. Few objects are as embedded in Rome's visual identity and cultural mythology as the Vespa — a symbol that has endured from the golden era of Roman Holiday to the streets of the city today. Being invited to reimagine it was, in her words, incredibly personal.

Working over several months, Michela approached each of the 13 Vespas as its own distinct world : giving every design its own visual language, rhythm, and personality, drawn from her signature colours and bold patterning. The process was meticulous, with close attention paid to both the technical execution of the wrapping and the final visual impact, ensuring each piece worked as both object and artwork.

The project took on an added dimension when Michela joined the production process in person during her time in Berlin. The result is a vibrant series of moving art: 13 timeless machines transformed into collectible expressions of Roman spirit, seen through a distinctly contemporary lens.
