Giant Crypto Plants in Times Square Plaza

Giant Crypto Plants is Tatsuru Arai’s immersive digital installation, hosted at Time Square Plaza. It reinterprets plant life through code, motion, and sound. The work imagines a futuristic ecosystem where organic growth is rewritten by technology, creating towering algorithmic plants that shift, pulse, and evolve in real time. By blending post-human aesthetics with environmental storytelling, Arai transforms the public space into a speculative digital garden—an exploration of how nature and computation might coexist in a new, hybrid form.
