Qianhui Yu – The Delightful Unnamed
Pocko Gallery presents The Delightful Unnamed, a multi-disciplinary solo exhibition showcasing the recent work of animation director and illustrator Qian-Hui Yu. The exhibition presents an expansive exploration of curiosity, playfulness, and the quiet strangeness of the in-between. The opening night will also welcome sound artist Eva Leung who will perform for the guests all throughout the evening.
Rooted in Yu’s lived experience, the exhibition draws on influences from retro graphic design, plant life, Chinese identity, and the recurring figure of her cat. Nostalgia and invention shape the aesthetic, while memory and emotion underpin the stories. At its heart, The Delightful Unknown is a tender meditation on how we process the world and how moments of mystery can spark connection.
