Cruschiform - À Toute Vitesse

"À Toute Vitesse" is the new children's book by the wonderfully talented Cruschiform. It is a 64-page album printed in 4 pantones, and works as a picture dictionary with a focus on velocity. Here she compares and classifies the speed between various vehicles, animals, insects, and objects by ascending order. For instance, an alligator is as fast as the Nautillus submarine, or a hornet's top speed is that of Drakkar. Have a look at Cruschiform's work here.

Kyoko Hamada - I used to be you

“The subject of change and decay has always fascinated me and been a part of my work, but finding my first gray hair really brought those issues up in my own life,” says Kyoko Hamada, who's project “I used to be you” has received a lot of press recently and won the 2012 Lens Culture International Exposure Award. In her project, she is becoming an old lady called Kikuchiyo-san, her self in 40 years time. “I do feel I am more myself, in a way, when I’m dressing up as Kikuchiyo-san. I feel like I am outside of the time and the social grid we live in. She just freely goes to places whenever she pleases." Kyoko says. She compares the series to a time machine, as it deals with her own mortality, aging and transition. Kyoko began photographing her time-machine self in 2011 with the initial help of a makeup artist, self-timer shutter and friends.

Kyoko was also selected by British Journal of Photography as the one to watch in 2013...So keep watching her work! For more info read one of the articles about her work at CNN blog.

IC4DESIGN - Mercedes-Benz

Oh boy, oh boy! We've been waiting a very long time to show you this masterpiece by IC4DESIGN. Commissioned by BBDO, Mercedes Benz's new outdoor print campaign took a total of 11 months to complete. We're still in shock, like a bout of empty-nest syndrome. The city scene features a near-accurate version of Istanbul, populated by a full range of Mercedes cars and hundreds of charming characters. There's just so much to see in here, so many precious moments and stories, we don't even know where to start. To give you a taste we've selected a tiny crop from the bottom left of the above image. Please, view the large version and detailed crops over here. Tremendous work by the boys in Hiroshima.
